Welcome to 2016. With the start of the new year comes new years resolutions and inevitably a newly charged focus on blogging. And why not? January is a good time to start digging into blog strategy and setting goals for what you want to accomplish in the new year.
It also seems to be a time when people unveil new things and offer friendly reminders for tools you can use moving forward. Here at LexBlog, we’re hoping to do just that to help you set your blogging strategy right. We want to make sure our readers are seeing some of the tools we launched at the end of 2015 and are primed and ready for some of the cool things we’re going to unveil in 2016. Check out what’s new:
Not sure what to write about? Blogging inspiration is a common struggle for writers. We heard you. We get it and we share the struggle. It’s why we launched Monday Muse.
Monday Muse is a new, recurring series for law blogging inspiration that will be posted every Monday afternoon/evening to the LXBN category in Support Center. Each post will include a list of a few timely, blog-worthy subjects gathered by LXBN Editor Zosha Millman.
Are you thinking you need a little bit more help? Awesome! We’ve got you covered with blogging inspiration we shared in 2015 too:
- 3 Quick Post Ideas When You Only Have 30 Minutes or Less
- 3 Tactics to Repurpose Content for Your Blog
- 22 Blog Writing Prompts for Inspiration
- HubSpots blog topic generator
Now that you have no excuses, get to blogging!
Premier Managed Platform
We launched the Premier Managed Platform (Premier) in the past year to address growing security issues with online publications. Premier secures your blogs with SSL and backs your blogs’ independent instance of the LexBlog Platform with our uptime SLA, plus a host of other benefits fueled by LexBlog client feedback.
Not sure if you need to protect your sites with HTTPS? Check out our post on 5 Reasons to Secure Your Blogs with SSL.
Pending Review Notifier
This is such a cool feature we’ve just added to the Premier Managed Platform. Pending Review Notifier sends email notifications to select editors when a user changes a post from Draft to Pending Review status, from Pending Review to Published, and in case a post needs to be unpublished, when a post moves from Published back to Pending Review. The email notification contains the post status, title, author name, and links to edit the post or change the notification settings for the site.
If you have a blog with multiple bloggers and are on the Premier Managed Platform, this is a great tool for collaboration and quick review of content.
Bonavita Coffee Maker
This may seem silly, but here at LexBlog, we run off WordPress and coffee. We are in Seattle after all. Coffee’s a big deal and after looking at the expense and waste of our single serve K-cup coffee maker, we’ve made the switch back to a greener, cheaper (dare I say healthier?) coffee solution to keep us focused on helping you blog.
A few of us are also hoping with the Keurig exiting, we can talk the LexBlog beverage gods into getting us a fancy tea brewer too. Caffeine, caffeine, caffeine!
- Another year of member only webinars
We took your feedback from the last year and built you a great new list for learning. Not to fret though, you can find a recap of all of our past webinars in Support Center.
- New products are coming out based on your feedback
I can’t give away all of the product roadmap this early on, but I can say that our product team has focused heavily on ideas submitted by members in Support Center.
- An updated LexBlog platform
LexBlog’s publishing platform is designed for professionals like you. It’s launch-ready for business development quickly, but its features have been sharpened over a decade by the needs of AmLaw 200 firms and lawyers earning millions of dollars of business from their blogging. The platform evolves as the social web does. The platform saves you time and money, and positions you to develop reputation and get new clients from blogging faster–rather than learning the ins and outs of technology that are distractions from your legal practice. Stay tuned for more on this!
Personally, I’m really excited to see what changes and upgrades we’re able to bring to the LexBlog platform in 2016. Got an idea for us? Post it in the comments below or as an idea in Support Center.
